Come as you are...It will change your Life!
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-Centered Recovery Program based on the Beatitudes.
CR is currently being used in thousands of churches nationwide and internationally. This Program was written by Pastors Rick Warren and John Baker. The purposes of Celebrate Recovery are to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to "be changed". We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.
By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
You may be thinking that recovery is just for those with alcohol or drug problems. Only about one-third of the people attending Celebrate Recovery are dealing with chemical dependencies. As Pastor Rick Warren says, “We all have sinned, we’ve all fallen short, we’ve all been hurt, and we’ve all hurt others. Everybody needs recovery.” All of life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups are addressed through this one curriculum.
How it Works
In order to gain the full benefits of Celebrate Recovery, participants are encouraged to attend Large Group, Open Share Groups and participate in a Step Study group on another night or day of the week. In Large Group we hear teachings on the 8 principles and the 12 Christ-Centered Steps and personal testimonies of changed lives. Open Share groups provide an opportunity to share recovery specific issues while step study groups provide an opportunity to thoroughly work the steps in a group setting rather than alone.
Celebrate Recovery Step Study Group
Monday - 6:30 pm Men's Step Study begins January 30, 2012. Enrollment closes March 5, 2012. Step Studies are the heart of the Celebrate Recovery program. This is where the hard work of an individual’s recovery is done. It is our hope that all of the participants in Highlands CR will go through a Step Study at least once. Step Study Groups are gender specific but with mixed recovery issues. They provide an opportunity for you to meet more than once a week, which is extremely helpful in recovery success. A Step Study Group facilitated in a 2-hour format will take one year to complete. | Friday Celebrate Recovery Meetings
Celebrate Recovery meets as a large group on Fridays, 6:30-9:00 pm. We serve dinner from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by Worship and a Lesson or Testimonies. Following the large group time, we offer the following small group open share times from 8:00 - 9:00 pm: Women's Open Share Group Men's Open Share Group Newcomers' Group NOTE: Check back often for new groups or changes to current groups. CELEBRATE RECOVERY SMALL GROUPS CAN: Provide you a safe place to share your experiences, strengths, and hopes with others who are going through the "Principles" in a Christ-Centered recovery. Provide you a leader who has gone through a similar hurt, hang-up or habit and who will facilitate the group as it focuses on a particular step each week. Provide you with the opportunity to find an accountability partner or sponsor. Encourage you to attend other recovery meetings held throughout the week, if available. |
